School Readiness Services
The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida recently merged to serve Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee Counties. During January 2005, we joined together as a not-for-profit entity to empower parents as a child's first teacher and help them prepare their children to be ready for school. Our school readiness programs focus on:
- Developmentally appropriate curriculum;
- Appropriate staff-to-children-ratios to ensure the success of each child; and
- The ability for parents to make an informed choice about the early childhood program that best fits their family's needs.
Our delivery system of school readiness programs is comprised of private, early childhood programs, family child care homes and school-based sites operated by public schools. School readiness programs are funded by both state and federal funds. This helps parents have access to high quality programs designed to meet the individual needs of their children.
