Attention Child Care Providers

CHILD CARE PROVIDERS! The Coalition is now offering electronic fingerprinting to child care providers with employees or household members in need of Level 2 Background screening.

1. Hours of Availability:
   • Walk- In hours: Mondays: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and Tuesdays: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
   • Appointment Hours: Fridays: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM In addition, appointments are offered on other days and times on a case by case basis. For appointments, call Dee at 239-210-6860.

3. Requirements:
   • Child Care Center owners, directors and employees wanting to be fingerprinted must be from a child care center that has an electronic facility number registered with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). (If you want to learn how to get approved, please contact Nancy Starr at the Coalition.)
   • Family Child Care Homes and their household members are eligible to participate and do not need a facility number.
   • When coming in for fingerprinting, the participant must bring the following information:
     • Photo identification: this must be a current (not expired) Driver's License, Passport, immigration card, military ID, or other federal/state issued photo identification. Foreign passports must reflect a current US visa stamp.
     • Payment in the form of check, credit card, money order or cash for the cost of the screening as identified above.
     • A Livescan Sign-Up Form must also be completed. This form is available on our website or will be provided to the participant by the Coalition upon arrival.
4. Process and Results: The participant is fingerprinted and the images are transmitted electronically to FDLE. State criminal records results will be sent to the employing facility designee within 48-72 hours via email. FBI results will follow with a few weeks from DCF. In some cases, the participant may be required to return for reprinting if the images are unclear.
