Edison State College in partnership with The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida, is pleased to present this program for Early Education Professionals and Parents.

About the Speaker:

Diane Levin, Ph.D., co-author of So Sexy So Soon, is a professor of Education at Wheelock College in Boston as well as an internationally recognized expert who helps professionals and parents deal with the effects of violence, media and commercial culture on children.

Dr. Levin does over 25 major presentations a year and has appeared on the Today Show, Fox News Weekend Live, Good Morning America, Nightline, and Talk of the Nation. Her work has been covered in major print publications including NEA Today, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Palm Beach Post, Washington Post, and the Christian Science Monitor.

About the Panel:

Confirmed members of the panel joining Dr. Levin include Lois Thome (WINK News), Pete Cade (RCMA Charter Schools Director of Curriculum and Instruction), Dr. Erin Harrel (Chair of Bachelor of Education Programs, Edison State College and columnist for Southwest Florida Parent & Child magazine), Dr. Andrew Oakes-Lottridge (Physician) and Dr. Emily Ptaszek (Psychologist).

Dan England (Director of Quality Management, Lee Mental Health Center) will be the panel moderator.

The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida is currently seeking new Board Members!

Being a Board Member requires an active and sincere interest in promoting quality early learning for young children and supporting families towards self sufficiency.

Each Board Member will be expected to regularly attend Board meetings (generally held every other month); and participation in one or more Board Committees.
