Florida Learning and Development Standards
The Florida Developmental Standards describe age-appropriate understandings
related to the ways children ages birth through age five explore, play, think,
reason, and create as they engage in the learning process.
As the field of early childhood education focuses on age-appropriate
expectations, it is imperative that individual needs and differences not be
overlooked. It is important to remember that not all young children will
attain all of the standards by a certain age. The standards cannot take into
account individual variations in development, and should be used as a guide
and not an absolute for all children. Download the standards by clicking below.
